More background for Chapters Literary Arts Center:

Chapters Literary Arts Center builds upon and expands the programs of an earlier nonprofit, Wordfest, a 501 c 3 nonprofit founded and operated by Chapters co-owners Terri Merz & Steve Moyer from 2001 - 2007, and which sponsored The 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th D.C. International Poetry Festivals, and which received grants from the Humanities Council of WDC, and the National Endowment for the Arts.

In July 2007, Patrick Hyde, Arnold Orza, and Jane Singleton Paul joined Terri and Steve as founding Board members of Chapters Literary Arts Center. In 2008, Clyde Linsley and Kay Marlin also joined the Board. In 2009, Patrick Hyde, Arnold Orza, and Jane Singleton Paul ended their Board service, and Jim Rochow began his.

Chapters Literary Arts Center will host A Conversation on A LESSON BEFORE DYING with Paul Butler, GWU Professor in Criminal Law and author of LET'S GET FREE: A HIP-HOP THEORY OF JUSTICE, and Attorney Alan Baron of Seyfarth, Shaw LLP who focuses on white collar criminal defense.
The conversation will be at Teaism Lafayette Park, 800 Conn. Ave. NW, (closed for dining, but refreshments will be served.)
